Hello everyone,
Anyone out there under the age of 30 is probably being pestered by someone somewhere about doing something.
Right now I know a few folks roundabout my age being nudged about what it is they want to be doing.
The greatest problem for our generation however is that we all have a pretty solid hunch of where we want to be but getting the money/grades/experience to get there is a different story entirely.
It can be frustrating to know where you want to go or have a solid idea but then see a whole row of hurdles before you. It bugs the heck out of me knowing that if I knew what I know now a few years before going to university I would have chosen a different discipline. Time travel is impossible and so we cannot let the past hold us back. Time has never waited and I doubt it will start now. Instead of hoping for things to work out we must always strive to put things in place that make our dreams come to fruition. For instance: One of my plans requires a CRB check being done so I am currently completing that document and acquiring other documents. It is a process that can take a few months. Another instance would be how my mother acquired some A-levels whilst raising a family single handedly and now my mother studies at Ruskin College in Oxford. :D
In short: The first step that you must take in order for your ambitions to come true is a first step. Find a moment even if it means staying awake slightly later than usual and get to work on making your big idea come true.
Our generation is fortunate with so much information and technology available it is so easy to learn more about the opportunities available to us. At the same time we have the same problem of becoming sidetracked by distractions as we are surrounded by images and activities that seek our attention. I have recently completed Fable on the Xbox 360 and I am certain that I could have used the hours of time I spent on that game doing something more constructive. Gaming is not the only distraction, we can become distracted by music, movies, reading, writing, walking, wondering and wandering. As long as we continue to allow our time to be taken by up everything except that which will directly help us reach our goals we are still refraining from taking that first step.
My friend from the train said: We learn a lot whilst travelling but to become greater we must combine our experience from the past with our present and use it become better.
He agreed about how making plans is one way to ensure that happens :)

This blog has not been proof-read by a single soul.
I do not trust my own eyes.
This was The Common Sense Eccentric's mad ramble.
Thank you reading and have a great week/weekend.
